Studies Assistance Grants      

Purpose of the Award



To honour one of the objectives of Zonta International -

"To improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women"

To encourage women to undertake further studies to enhance their employment and life opportunities.
To financially assist a post compulsory female student in pursuing her studies.

The Studies Assistance Grant is conducted annually and is open to women enrolled in any post compulsory institution in the Swan Hills Area.

It was with great pleasure that the Zonta Swan Hills' Studies Assistance Grants were presented to :-







Charlotte Carey and Shahd Milhem

from Cyril Jackson Senior High School.


Charlotte comes from Queensland. She hopes to train as a forensic anthropologist.

Shahd comes from Iraq. She would like to train as a dental assistant.

19th November 2014 - Presentation of Studies Assistance Grants



It was with great pleasure that the Zonta Swan Hills' Studies Assistance Grants were presented to :-







Gifty Koroma and Tengeneza Nyasa

from Cyril Jackson Senior High School.




Gifty Koroma arrived from Freetown in Sierra Leone 12 months ago. She would like to work in law enforcement in the field of forensic science.

Tengeneza Nyasa was born in the Congo and arrived in Australia at the age of 12. Her ambition is to become a nurse.

Each of the recipients spoke about their life here in Australia, and their hopes and plans for the future.
